Angela Amias, LCSW
I’m a licensed therapist, writer, and educator focused on trauma and relationships. I co-founded Alchemy of Love with Daniel Boscaljon to provide guidance, education, and support for individuals and couples navigating the effects of trauma on relationships. What began as a shared vision has grown into a platform offering classes, articles, podcasts, and the Five Relationship Archetypes—resources designed to support healing, wholeness, and deeper connection.
As the Director of Clinical Education for the Institute for Trauma Informed Relationships, I provide certification, training, and consulting in trauma-informed relationship counseling for therapists, coaches, and other helping professionals. This work is grounded in Trauma Informed Relationship Counseling for Individuals and Couples, a model I developed to integrate relational trauma into relationship-focused therapy.
My professional journey began at a clinic specializing in attachment trauma in adopted children. Through this work, I came to recognize how often early relational wounds continue to shape adult relationships, even when they are not immediately visible. These insights continue to inform my work with both individuals and professionals.
I also hold a master’s degree in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and have specialized training in the therapeutic use of writing for trauma recovery, emotional healing, and personal growth. As a trauma survivor myself, as well as a therapist, I’m keenly aware of the power of telling our stories—and of re-envisioning new ones in the wake of trauma.
I’m the author and host of Ask Angela, a relationship advice column and podcast focused on navigating love after trauma. I’ve been featured in publications including Today, Oprah Daily, Cosmopolitan, Forbes, and The Independent, as well as in wellness and psychology outlets such as Well + Good and Women’s Health.
My work is deeply informed by creative expression as well as clinical practice. As a mixed media artist, my work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States. It’s also been featured in publications including Memoir Magazine, Somerset Digital Studio, Up the Staircase Quarterly, and Still Point Arts Quarterly. I’m also the co-creator of the Faces of the Divine Feminine Oracle. You can find my art at angelaamias.gallery.
