FAQs

  • Sessions are 55 minutes long and cost $200. I generally meet with couples every other week, though in some cases you might decide you would like to meet more frequently or less frequently. In some case, I might recommend meeting every week for a brief period of time to make progress more quickly if there are time-sensitive issues that you’re facing.

  • No. Insurance companies do not typically pay for true couples therapy. Instead they cover services that are geared toward treating an individual’s diagnosed mental condition. I’ve found that couples therapy is more effective when I focus fully on the relationship and on supporting both people in creating a more fulfilling intimate relationship.

  • Most states, but not all, require that a therapist be licensed in that state in order to provide therapy, even online. You can contact me HERE to ask about your particular situation.

Books and movies inspire us with the dream of finding someone to share our life with.

We’re all familiar with how that story goes— from the first meeting to last scene, when the happy couple walks hand-in-hand into the sunset.

But what happens after that? The truth is that all relationships face challenges and society doesn’t teach us how to keep the magic going over a lifetime. Instead, movies and television give us a parade of miserably middle-aged married couples, whose happily-ever-after didn’t last long.

I believe flourishing relationships:

1. evolve and grow over time, like all living things

2. allow you to create a shared vision and commitment to a meaningful life with your partner

3. enhance your feelings of self-worth and confidence

4. enrich all aspects of your life, including other relationships, work and creative pursuits.

5. encourage you to develop and grow, to explore and make mistakes

6. make space for you to express your authentic self

7. grow stronger as challenges and conflicts are resolved in ways that deepen the relationship
